Wedding restrictions

The glitz and glam of a wedding

When Covid hit, weddings - like everything else - had to be cancelled.

As time moved on, bits of daily life got back to some kind of normal and the Registrars opened for business again fairly quickly.

By summer, small weddings were able to take place, socially distanced and with safeguards in place.

As Covid continues to peak and trough, the world is constantly shifting and flexing to keep us all safe.

Right now, we can have weddings for 20 people. It might not have been your dream, but if your primary goal is to legalise your status, at least you are still able to go ahead with that.

Now we have a tier system in place. In Glasgow, right now, we’re in tier 3, so can’t travel and people are encouraged not to visit. If we move to tier 4, weddings will only be allowed for 5 people. The celebrant, couple and witnesses.

Your celebrant and Registrar will keep you right on numbers and any other restrictions at the time of booking your wedding.
